Sure, he’s immensely skilled with an acoustic in hand, but his songs resonate just as well, if not better, on an entirely different level when he adds this full band sound. Far from imposing, or being entirely care-free, the EP sets a relatively laid back tone, a subtle blend of pop sensibility balanced against sharp lyrics and grittier meanings. If this a sign of how the age old acoustic singer songwriter might be set to go in the future, bringing wise words and a youthful musicality, then it’s a triumph for listeners everywhere.”
