We always recommend that you attend your mastering session if possible, in order that you can take an active role in shaping the sound of your master. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the process; your engineer will guide you through and you can have as much (or as little) input as you want. However technical you are, your engineer will be able to get a better idea of what you’re after simply by spending some time with you.
If you don’t want to be too hands on about it, you can always just sit back and watch it all come together, although your engineer will probably appreciate it if you get up and put the kettle on once in a while! So, do come along; it’ll be great to see you, and you’ll get the chance to see how and where it all happens.

If you can’t make the trip to our
studio yourself or you’re looking to save a little on your mastering costs, then you can use our online mastering service. The essential difference with online mastering is that we do the work in downtime, and you are charged by the track rather than by the hour.

Using stems can give you more control just where you need it at the mastering stage. For example: if you're not sure about how mastering will affect the vocal level, or you're having trouble getting the bass to sit right in your mix; then you can bring those elements to the session as different files and let us help you find the right balance.
