MASTERING FROM STEMS
Attended MasteringWe always recommend that you attend your mastering session if possible, in order that you can take an active role in shaping the sound of your master. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the process; your engineer will guide you through and you can have as much (or as little) input as you want. However technical you are, your engineer will be able to get a better idea of what you’re after simply by spending some time with you.If you don’t want to be too hands on about it, you can always just sit back and watch it all come together, although your engineer will probably appreciate it if you get up and put the kettle on once in a while! So, do come along; it’ll be great to see you, and you’ll get the chance to see how and where it all happens. top
Online MasteringIf you can’t make the trip to our studio yourself or you’re looking to save a little on your mastering costs, then you can use our online mastering service. The essential difference with online mastering is that we do the work in downtime, and you are charged by the track rather than by the hour.Click here for our online mastering prices and further information. top
Mastering from StemsUsing stems can give you more control just where you need it at the mastering stage. For example: if you're not sure about how mastering will affect the vocal level, or you're having trouble getting the bass to sit right in your mix; then you can bring those elements to the session as different files and let us help you find the right balance.Click here for further information and guidance on mastering from stems. top
Vinyl CuttingWe cut our lacquers and acetates on the classic Neumann VMS80 lathe, using an original Neumann console. The thingy goes round and music comes out – it’s amazing!
Remastering & RestorationWe have a great deal of experience with back catalogue, and can cater for legacy production formats such as analogue ¼” and ½” tape or even vinyl and cassette. For restoration work such as removing clicks and dropouts etc we have an extensive suite of CEDAR™ tools including their top of the range workstation, the CEDAR Cambridge.
CompilingNot every job requires the full monty. Should you need someone reliable to compile masters for you without charging for all the kit you don’t need – give us a bell.
EditingRadio Edits, Censored Edits, TV Tracks, Instrumentals – We have the experience and creative skill to snip slice and shorten in the most musically effective ways.
Options / PackagesWorried about costs? If you’re wary of paying by the hour, we can offer fixed rate packages based on tailoring the work to your budget. Give us a call to discuss your project. Downtime – we can save you money by working on your tracks in your absence; provided you can allow us a few days. Call for details. top
